Great track. Love the atmosphere, which is better than many I've heard recently. I like the various little "electro" influences thrown into the mix. I also like how it goes from Mercyful Fate, doomish black metal to aborym style fast paced electro black metal. Great vocals reminiscent of old Rotting Christ, and great keyboards.

I love it when black metal is very atmosphere-related like this. Good job bro

Blackdoom13 responds:

Thanks for the review dude! Yeah I like the way it came out lol it all fell into place the way I wanted.
Many many months of work on it. Cool Rotting Christ! I didn't even try to mimic anyone.
I just scream hatefully and it came out like so.

You're lucky

I voted 3 on this. I can detect effort, but the production is sloppy and really choppy and hard to understand. Maybe you need to work on mic placement or something. On the plus side, I enjoyed the tune. Make more, but next time, either go direct into the system, or use better mic placement.

Rucklo responds:

There´s no wrong with my mic, it´s just very sloppy edited and mastered :) And the same goes for everything else in this song actually. Like I said, this is made in one hour, so what the hell, its just a spoof thing really. My next metal song shall be more serious, that I promise :D

THanx alot for the review, it´s time for me to go check some more of your stuff, I reckon! :D

Too electronic

You use Cubase, so maybe that's the european version of Cubasis VST here in USA. Maybe you should crank the guitars up in the mix more. I use Cubasis VST for all my recording. As you notice, keyboards are low in the mix for me, so if you truly want to sound evil, use a bit more guitar. I seriously can't call this metal if I can't hear the guitars. However, I do think that this could be a good song, it just needs to be mixed again, with the guitars higher in the mix. Stay evil!!

Rucklo responds:

Yeah well, I´m currently learning Cubase, but these three early "B-M" songs ("Grevens Final Fight", "Skogströll" and "Denna Goda Värld") are entirely created in Reason 1.0. So guitars are based on the samples in the reason factory soundbank, messed with a whole lot, and yes, lowered so they won´t take over, since they don´t quite sound like real guitars. There probably never will be another version of this song, but hey, never say never :)

Thanx a 1000 for the review! Stay Devil.

I guess I'm not an electronic guy.

I guess I like my metal heavier than you like yours. My comments are pretty much the same for In Holes, though I do give you originality points. Stay EVIL!!!!

an A for effort

But I could do without the electronic crap. This isn't 100% true black metal. If you want 100% true black metal, check out some of my stuff. I liked it, but it was too much like some of the mainstream stuff, but it wasn't bad.

The keyboards were WAAAYYY excessive, as even COF doesn't use this much keys, and it sounded kind of, dare I say, cheesy. However, that doesn't mean it isn't good; The guitars were just too dormant. I do give an A for effort and clarity, though.

Rucklo responds:

Guitar and vox are recorded in Cubase, everything else made in Reason. Mastering is kinda out there, since i´m new to Cubase.
Anyway, this is black metal, maybe not like Burzum´s most extreme stuff, but it´s melodic. I´d like to call it "Evil Forest Metal". Yea. Evil.
Anyway, there´s a thin line between Black Metal and Death Metal for example, and all the "(enter whatever where) Metal" and I won´t keep writing bout what it is, it´s pointless.

Guitars are a lil dormant, i agree.
I think this is a song that gets better every time u hear it, that´s what my friends said anyhow.
Im gonna check some more of ur stuff out man! Stay evil, and thanx a 1000 for an honest and good review!
